Casting anxious eyes at Icelandic volcanoes... but looking good so far. Our April trip to New York was lost in cloud of volcanic ash... but did make it over in June... and so far omens looking favourable for Boston and #BLC10.
Reeling under our own neo-con assault on technology in teaching and learning since the UK government changed, so looking forward to the affirmation and restoration of faith that BLC always brings. If you meet any Brits during your time at BLC10 please treat them kindly, and help restore their belief systems. When you have a new Secretary of State who believes that all good teaching involves children sitting in rows and being able to list the Kings and Queens of England you need all the support you can get! Especially when his first two major acts are to kill off Building Schools for the Future and halving the schools' technology budgets!
But as always the view from the teachers' perspective bottom up is stunning, with wonderful creative teachers grasping ideas like Ewan McIntosh's Teachmeets , twitter running rampant as a way of sharing learning and professional development... and lots of other good things so the glass is half full! (Have you noticed that a half full glass is always full at the bottom, not the top? :)
Looking forward to seeing some familiar faces, and making some new friends, at BLC10
